Breaking News: Over 1500 Inmates Released Today

This isn't actually news. Every day of the year an average of about 1500 people are released from prisons and jails in the US. These are the people who are taunted, starved, locked down and tormented for months or years and then... just let out. No rehabilitation. Maybe no support. No strategies on how to survive or cope.

It's a useful reminder for everyone out there that most of us in here will be out there eventually. The kind of treatment that we endure daily doesn't leave us when we walk out. The scars are inside, but they're still scars, and we still wince when they're touched. Wouldn't it make more sense to try and provide some form sort of rehabilitation, or at least education.... or something.... for your sake as well as ours.
